Here you will find some of the songs I love singing, and some music from my sister too!

Oh and a flash mob! Take a look.

Past Singing Projects

Past musical projects I have been involved with include;

In 2019 I was honoured to be asked to do some backing lyrics on the following album by my friend Dan Capp who is Wolcensmen

I sang on tracks 1,2,8 and 11

Also in the summer of the same year I was commissioned to re-write some lyrics to an old railway song and record them to be part of a larger soundscape at the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO world heritage site at the High Peak Junction in Derbyshire.

In 2020 I was asked to write a Nottingham version of a song featured in the film Asunder and perform it at Broadway cinema, Nottingham at the screening of the film.

And here is my sound cloud with Bodhran songs!

The Russell Sisters

Beren and Lúthien

This is a song Alisa wrote based on the Tolkien poem Beren and Luthien, sang by Julie (together we are the folk band The Russell Sisters) The instrumentation gets going as the song goes on so please listen until the end 🎶 🧙🏻‍♂️This was Alisa’s first ever recording project so its kind of a rough mix. 🎶 All music is composed, performed, recorded and arranged by Alisa (apart from the singing!) Lyrics from The tale of Beren and Lúthien by J.R.R. Tolkien

Blackbirds and Thrushes

Vocals: Julie Russell Harp and musical arrangement: Alisa Marie Russell

“I’ve just come back from a flash mob community sing in Nottingham with Julie of Eat Bake Sing. What a high! Singing songs with friends, old and new, in a beautiful acoustic space, in public, was just so freeing… I cannot wait to experience that again!”

“It was great my little girl loved it… The music was great to find it hard to believe that it was all done on the spot. I will [definitely] be going to another soon x”
